DC chairs NCORD meeting

RAMBAN, Oct 18: Intensify drive on mission mode to make panchayats Nasha Mukt across the district. This was instructed by Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, to all the stakeholder departments while chairing a meeting of the District-level NARCO Coordination Committee of (NCORD), here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma, ACR, Giasul Haq, ACD, Ashok Katoch, CEO, Devanand, Dy. SP, OM Prakash, Tehsildar Ramban, Harvir Singh, BDOs, DCO, Imtiyaz Ahmed whereas SDMs, CMO Dr. Kamal Zadu, Tehsildars attended the meeting on virtual mode. Reviewing the measures taken by the enforcement agencies to curb the drug abuse and narcotics traffic in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Tehsildars and Block Development Officers to conduct frequent meetings with the Sarpanches and other PRIs to implement all the directions regarding NCORD. The DC directed the ADC to monitor progress of Tehsildars on their achievements for declaring panchayats Nasha Mukt in their tehsils. The DC directed the SDMs to ensure strict implementation of NARCO guidelines besides imposing crackdown on smoking at Government institutions and public places in their jurisdictions.
The Police Department was asked to share information pertaining to drug hotspots to target the same for making Panchayats Nasha Mukt across the district.
The Drug Inspector was directed to ensure installation of CCTV cameras in the chemist shops and other associated locations to ensure proper monitoring of drugs related activities. He was also directed to organize awareness programmes in colleges and other institutions to sensitize the youth about the ill effect of drug abuse. Asserting the District Administration has adopted a zero tolerance policy against drug abuse, the DC also appealed to parents of teenagers' and young children to keep watch on their children to prevent them from drug addiction. Later, the DC also directed the Tehsildars and BMOs to ensure saturation of uncovered individual beneficiaries under AYUSHMAN BHARAT schemes keeping in view lists submitted by the Lambardars and Chowkidars in this regard.
The DC also directed the SDMs and Tehsildars to monitor all developmental activities being executed by the various departments in their areas besides timely reporting about status of road connectivity, availability of essential supplies and healthcare facilities, especially during bad weather conditions.
