Cooperation, coordination to foster seamless development: DC

JAMMU, Oct 18: Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired the weekly Block Diwas at Panjgrain panchayat of Nagrota block today. The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the significance of Block Diwas as a platform for collaboration and problem-solving. Cooperation of the public and coordination with the departments is vital for developmental works, he said. He called upon the public to cooperate with the administration consistently and facilitate the removal of all hindrances to the execution of developmental projects. He assured the public that all valid grievances would be reported and escalated whenever necessary.
"All valid issues would be addressed on priority, considering rules and budgetary constraints. The ones not addressed immediately will be taken up subsequently in the next financial year", the DC explained.
Moreover, he stressed the need for balancing environmental preservation and development, stating that "Development and preservation of the environment and ecology must go together hand in hand." In a positive development, the Deputy Commissioner revealed that many schools across the district have been listed for upgradation and renovation. He also congratulated the beneficiaries of the government's ambitious mission to provide housing to the landless.
The issues raised during the meeting included concerns related to Ration Cards, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana housing scheme, traffic management in Nagrota town and near IIT and IIM campuses, the upgradation of government schools, improvement in infrastructure, approach roads in the block, construction of a bridge over a local nallah, transport facilities, routes towards the graveyard, mobile connectivity and drinking water supply and pipelines.
Prominent attendees at the gathering included BDC Chairman Nagrota, Rahmat Ali; DDC Member from block Dansal, Shamim Akhtar; Sarpanches, Thoru Ram, Kishore, Raman Wazir, Mohd Iqbal, Abha Jamwal besides various other PRI representatives.
The district officers present on the occasion included Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Piyush Dhotra; ACD Preeti Sharma; Tehsildar Nagrota, Babu Ram; Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Harbaksh Singh besides Chief Education Officer and others.
