KATRA, Oct 20: Natrang Jammu's spectacular presentation, 'Mata Ki Kahani,' has captured the hearts and admiration of audiences at the Navratra Festival 2023 in Katra. This international-class theatrical show, conceived, scripted, and directed by the esteemed Padamshree Balwant Thakur, has left spectators spellbound with its electrifying performances and seamless storytelling.
Organized by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the Directorate of Tourism Jammu, this grand theatrical series has completed 10 shows since its commencement on the second day of the Navratra Festival in Katra.
Mrs. Babila Rakwal, District Development Commissioner Reasi, graced the event as the Chief Guest and commended the show for its meaningful content and vibrant performances, deeming it a fitting tribute to the occasion. Other notable attendees included Amit Gupta, SSP Reasi, and Deepak Dubey, SDM Katra.
'Mata Ki Kahani' is a unique theatrical presentation that delves into one of India's most popular mythological stories-the legend of Mata Vaishno Devi. The performance combines elements of music, dance, drama, and state-of-the-art visual effects to vividly narrate the tale that has been echoing in the hills for over a thousand years.
The narrative follows the birth of Mata Vaishno Devi and her journey towards attaining divine consciousness. It includes her encounters with Lord Rama and her unwavering devotion to her mission, offering an intriguing perspective on the legend.
Seventy accomplished artists, performers, technicians, and designers have joined forces to bring this extraordinary production to life. Notable contributors to the performance include Neeraj Kant in direction, Virji Sumbly in art direction, Rahul Singh, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, and Mohd. Yaseen in costumes and properties, Chander Shekhar in designing, Sunny Mujoo in choreography, and Shivam Singh in light design.
'Mata Ki Kahani' has become a highlight of the Navratra Festival, showcasing the rich cultural and mythological heritage of the region and leaving a lasting impact on its audiences.
