Induction Programme concluded at GDC Ramban

RAMBAN, Oct 20: A two day Induction Programme for newly admitted students concluded at Government Degree College, Ramban.
The program was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Student welfare committee under the guidance of Principal Prof. Archana Kaul with the objective to make the students aware of the curricular and co-curricular activities taking place in the college.
The first phase of the programme commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Bharat Singh, HoD (Physics) in which he welcomed the newly admitted students, faculty and other staff members.
Detailed and informative lectures were delivered by different faculty members on various topics. The series of lectures was initiated by Dr. Vikram Rathore, HoD (Environmental Science) and Prof. Kamaljeet Singh (HoD Computer Application), who discussed about the various statutes of New Education Policy (NEP) and various online services, Prof. Bansi Lal, (HoD Chemistry) talked about the pattern of the Examination system followed by the affiliating body i.e., University of Jammu, Prof. Chankya Sharma (HoD Music) on the pivotal role of various musical and cultural groups which will lead the students to boost their caliber and will open numerous avenues for their skill enhancement, Dr. Vinod Kumar (Asstt. Prof. Botany) about the Career Counseling Cell of the college in which he talked about the different opportunities provided by the college. Prof. Ajaz Ahmed (HoD Economics) threw light on the various subject tours, Tours & picnic and transport facilities provided by the college.
Final lecture of the first Phase was given by Prof. Vickey Rattan (HoD Hindi) on the National Service Scheme (NSS) in which the students were made aware about the functioning and benefits of NSS.
A valedictory function was organized on the second day which began with the talk of Prof. Neetu Sharma (Asstt. Prof. Dogri) on Committee against Sexual Harassment in which she talked about the various acts, preventive and remedial measures related to sexual harassment.
The following lecture was delivered by Dr. Bharat Singh (HoD Physics) on Discipline in which he talked about behaviorism, mannerism and etiquettes which are part and parcel of discipline, Prof. Vijay Kumar (HoD Urdu) talked about the various facilities provided in the library of the college, Dr. Sajad Ahmed Ganai (Lecturer Chemistry) wrote a marvelous poem regarding the welcome of newly admitted students.
