DODA, Oct 20: To review the ICDS sector for nutritional support system, health services, immunization, and non formal pre-school education to children in age group 0 to 6-years under Misson POSHAN, Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan, today presided over a meeting of DPO ICDS, Child Development Project Officers, and Supervisors of the district, here in DC Office complex Doda.
Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) also joined virtually and DC interacted with them to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the ICDS services.
The meeting primarily discussed the ICDS operations, including the functioning of Anganwadi Centers and analyzed the gaps in the services delivery.
The Deputy Commissioner asked all the CDPOs of 8 ICDS projects and Supervisors to visit their Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), submit detailed report including Geo-tagged photographs showing beneficiaries and building, within 20 days.
He emphasised the need for seamless coordination between the AWWs and the ASHA workers to enhance the effectiveness of immunization services to the targetted children.
DPO ICDS Doda Ashfaq Khanji apprised Deputy Commissioner that there are 1401 sanctioned Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), and 1396 AWCs are operational in the district catering to the 30688 deserving identified beneficiaries. 42 AWCs from all the Projects have been identified for providing the latest gadgets/ services, including ALEXA, TVs, etc. To meet out the staff deficiencies, 48 AWWs and 49 AWHs were engaged during phase 1st, while 24 AWW’s and 21 AWH’s vacant posts have been advertised during phase 2nd, recently.
DC also reviewed PMMVY, ADHAAR seeding, DBT, achievements under developmental deliverables by ICDS sector and other such parameters of Mission POSHAN.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner entrusted the Tehsildars with the task of inspecting the punctuality of staff and quality of meals provided to the children, particularly in rural areas. He emphasised the need to prioritise the welfare of the impoverished and marginalised sections residing in the remote corners of the district.
DC has instructed to issue ration as per the actual presence out of enrolled beneficiaries.
He exhorted upon the achieving 100% under developmental deliverable parameters by 30th of November 2023. He reteriated that strong willingness of the officers and officials of ICDS Department is amust to eradicate malnutrition, hanger and to implement the non formal pre-school education and necessary immunization of children between age 0 to 6 years in the district. The meeting was attended by DPO ICDS Doda Ashfaq Khanji, CPO Doda Suresh Kumar, CDPOs (All), Supervisors (All), and more than 800 Anganwadi Workers who joined virtually.
