10/20/2023 10:59:49 PM

Early Times Report

SAMBA, Oct 20: In a resolute move aimed at putting an end to illegal mining activities within the district, the District Administration Samba, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, has taken significant actions against violators.
Early this morning, in a well-coordinated operation, one crusher unit was officially closed as part of a stern crackdown on unlawful mining operations. The closure was executed by the Magistrate, in the presence of the DMO Samba Mohammad Sayeed, along with a contingent of police officers.
This action was instigated following an inquiry led by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, which revealed that the crusher unit in question had been erected on state-owned land. Consequently, a closure order was issued in line with the findings of the inquiry.
In addition to the closure of the crusher unit, penalty notices have been issued to five other crusher units, with the intent of ensuring their strict compliance with mining regulations. Moreover, the District Mineral Officer (DMO) has taken the step of issuing cancellation notices to mineral dealer license holders, to preserving the integrity of mining operations within the district.
