GDC Thannamandi celebrates Khadi Mahotsav

THANNAMANDI, Oct 21: Government Degree College Thannamandi celebrated Khadi Mahotsav by screening a documentary on khadi and its promotion. The event was conducted under the patronage of the college's Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed. The documentary drew enthusiastic participation from NSS Volunteers, NCC cadets, students, and staff members of the institution.
The primary objective of this program was to emphasize the relevance of khadi in today's world among the audience. NSS Volunteers actively participated in an online quiz competition and pledged to uphold the importance of khadi and its role in the economic and cultural growth of the nation. Addressing the occasion, the college's Principal highlighted the significance of khadi as an Indian fabric closely associated with India's freedom movement. He expressed pride in bringing this product to the international platform for its utility and recognition. He encouraged students to make the maximum use of khadi products and to promote and adopt them.
In addition to the teaching and non-teaching staff, Dr. Nahim-Un-Nisa, Prof. Mudasir Majeed, Prof. Ajaz Nazir, Prof. Naveen Sharma, Prof. Ather Aziz Raina, Prof. Rummy Dar, and Mohd Latieef were also present during the event. The program was coordinated by NSS Volunteer Adnan Aqib.
