| Adani meets CM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEB 5: Noted industrialist, Mr. Gautam Adani of Adani Group, today called on Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah and showed keen interest in investing in infrastructure development in J&K State. Adani Group deals in ports, infrastructure, Special Economic Zones, power, energy and oil and natural gas exploration Welcoming Mr. Adani, Mr. Abdullah asked him to come up with a specific proposal for J&K and assured him that the Government would extend all possible help to invest in the State. He also asked Mr. Adani to contribute to social causes by upliftment of weaker sections of the society in the State like orphans, widows and downtrodden. The Chief Minister during his visit to Mumbai last month, had made out elaborate case for the Corporate firms to invest in J&K. He had told India Inc. that his Government will focus on skill development of its youth in the State so that their employability in the private sector is improved. Already, 18 polytechnics in the uncovered districts of the State have been sanctioned and work on four of these is underway. During his visit to Mumbai, Essar Group announced setting up of two BPO centres in the two capital cities of the State, which will generate 4,000 jobs.
