Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 23: The Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, a registered organization, celebrated the auspicious Ram Navami festival with grandeur and devotion. The celebration featured various religious and cultural activities that brought together members of the trust, special invitees, and a multitude of devotees.
The heart of the celebration was a Havan/yagya conducted with utmost reverence in the yagyashala within the temple complex. Learned pandits provided guidance during the ceremony, which lasted for approximately six hours in the morning. The Havan was followed by the "kanya pujan," a special ritual honoring young girls, and a heartfelt arti.
In the lead-up to Ram Navami, a series of programs enriched the festive atmosphere. Students from various colleges and schools presented Dandiya and Garbha dances, as well as scenes from Shri Ram Lila, portraying the life of Lord Rama. Recitations of devotional bhajans added to the spiritual ambiance. Renowned scholars also delivered special lectures during the Navaratri period, garnering appreciation from all attendees.
On Shri Durga Ashtami, which fell on October 22, 2023, the Trust awarded medals to participants in recognition of their contributions to the celebration. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, the President of the Trust, presented the prizes. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Charak extended his congratulations to all devotees, particularly the office bearers and members of the function committee, for organizing such a magnificent celebration. He also expressed his gratitude to the revered pujaris and other staff members of the temple complex for their dedication in making the Navratri festival a resounding success.
The success of these celebrations was a collaborative effort, and several individuals played pivotal roles. Prominent among them were Sarav S.C. Rekhi (General Secretary), Deepak Gupta (Treasurer), Prithvi Raj Vaid, Harish Malohtra, Kapil Slathia, KB Magotra, Kulbhushan Bali, Parshant Sharma, P.C. Gupta, Sumesh Damral, Smt. Kiran Rajput, Krishan P. Gupta, Sandeep Singh, and Pritam Singh. Their tireless efforts ensured that the Ram Navami festivities were both spiritually enriching and culturally vibrant.
