Court reject bail in loan fraud case

Jammu, Oct 25: Special Mobile Magistrate Electricity Jammu Vinod Kumar rejected the bail application of one Saleem Yousaf S/o Mohd Yousaf Bhatti R/o Narol, Mendhar District Poonch who was arrested by the Crime Branch in loan fraud case.
According to the Crime Branch Jammu that accused has taken fraudulent loans of taken Rs.32 lakhs himself in addition to this he has prepared forged salary certificates of co-accused on thebasis of which availed loan amount up to approx. Rs. 1.38 crores which was later on shared with Co-accused.
The accused in connivance with co-accused has taken first fraudulent loan in March 2022 and continued taking other fraudulent loans from different branches of J&K Bank till Dec. 2022 and siphoned ofhuge amount of public money, all of them have criminally conspired as an organized gang.
Court after hearing APP Anil Saini for the Crime Branch, observed that the accused has submitted that he is innocent and asserted that he is the sole breadwinner of his family.
However, it is the duty of the court to safeguard the interests of justice and protect the integrity of the criminal justice system.
Granting bail in this case could send a wrong signal to society, therefore, considering the seriousness of the charges, the court finds it inappropriate to grant bail to the accused at this juncture. Moreover the investigation is still at an early stage, and more facts are yet to emerge. Keeping in mind the facts and circumstance of the case the bail application is rejected. (JNF)
