Rs. 17.47 crs spent in Samba

SAMBA, FEBRUARY 06 - District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mr Saurabh Bhagat, convened a meeting of the district officers to review the physical and financial progress achieved till date and steps taken to achieve the targets fixed in the annual plan 2008-09 in the district.
While reviewing the financial achievements under district sector, it was disclosed that an expenditure of Rs. 17.47 crore has been registered against the availability of Rs. 24.45 crore. It was informed that an amount of Rs. 5.50 crore have been utilized till date for construction of district administrative complex at Samba under the sector “Establishment of New districts” (infrastructure) and Rs. 7.50 crore has been anticipated for the purpose. An expenditure of Rs. 1.85 crore stands incurred under minor irrigation sector for drilling of eight irrigation tube wells at the tail end of the command area of Ravi Tawi Irrigation in the district. Besides Rs. 0.73 crore have been spent on implementation of various schemes viz. IAY, RHS, TSC and NREGS, schemes under Rural Development sector and Rs. 0.30 crore have been spent for repair of 128 distraction transformers under power sector. Apart from it, Rs. 0.75 crore stand utilized under nutrition sector for providing nutrition to the targeted children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, adolescent girls etc.
The DDC also reviewed the performance of various sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, PWD, PHE, animal husbandry etc. He asked the officers to make all out efforts to accomplishing the targets fixed for the earliest. He also stressed upon them that the best performing sector would be supplemented with additional funds for taking up more works under the sector, whileas the less performing sectors shall be dealt severely under rules.
He exhorted upon the engineers/ officers to exercise close technical supervision in each project for time bound completion of the road/ building projects qualitatively so that immediate benefits reach to the public for whom the projects have been designed. He asked the departments to maintain complete liaison with the executing agency during the process of execution
