DC Reasi reviews control measures against Drug abuse at NCORD meeting

REASI, Oct 25: To review the steps taken to curb drug abuse and narcotic trade in the district, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Babila Rakwal today chaired a meeting of the District-level NARCO Coordination Committee (NCORD) here.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on a variety of issues pertaining to incidence of drug addiction, areas of concern and hotspots of drug use and action taken by the concerned departments to curb the menace of drugs.
The Deputy Commissioner suggested a string of measures and asked the concerned to work in coordination at different levels to combat drug trafficking. She called for maintaining close coordination among the stakeholder departments and institutions.
The DC directed all schools and colleges to launch a massive awareness campaign against drugs and also appealed to parents of teenagers’ and young children to keep watch on their children to prevent them from drug addiction.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the Reasi Administration has adopted a zero tolerance policy against drug suppliers and traffickers.
SSP Amit Gupta, ADDC Jyoti Slathia, ADC Abdul Star, PO Poshan Mohd. Anwar Banday, ACD, CEO and all concerned officers were present in the meeting.
