| Verma reviews agri project in Reasi villages | | | Early Times Report
REASI, FEBRUARY 6 - In order to assess the pace of various development works executed under Drought Prone Area Programme (DPAP) and Haryali Watershed scheme in Pouni block of the Reasi district, the District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Mr. Sanjeev Verma visited different locations which include Pouni, Bharakh, Laiter, Bhambla, Dadua, Kheral and Baulian yesterday and inspected the works completed and under execution in the area.
The works which were inspected by the DDC included check-dam under Kothian watershed, irrigation channel under Gajore watershed, Nallah Bank Erosion Control (NBEC) and Bowli under Dadua watershed, diversion drain and tank water body Laiter watershed and water harvesting tank under Technology Mission at village Beulian.
After inspection of these works already executed in different areas, Mr. Verma expressed his satisfaction but directed the concerned officers to construct more water bodies and also treat adjoining areas under Haryali and NREGA so that maximum areas get covered under the schemes and the general public of these areas get employment opportunities by way of 100 days of guaranteed employment as already defined under the NREGA.
He stressed upon the officers concerned to take more interest in the development of these rural areas by initiating such more haryali projects and Technology Mission so that the maximum benefits of such schemes percolate down to the common masses.
