Early times report Jammu, Feb:6. A day long ‘Dogri Mushaira’ was organized at Kundanlal Saigal hall by the Jammu Kashmir academy of art, culture and languages (JKAACL) here today. Renowned Dogri writer, Chanan Arora who presided over the mushaira, appreciated the poet who recited their poetry and congratulated the academy for conducting such function. He said Dogri poetry has the potential to compete with contemporary poetry of various language spoken in the country. Earlier,while welcoming the gathereing additional secretary, cultural academy Mrs. Savita Bakshi, said that academy is going to organize two day Dogri seminar in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi and two days Red Cross Mela at Kala Kendra organized by Red Cross society, on 7th and 8th of Feb. She also detailed about the future activities of the academy including on the spot children music competition be held on 10th of Feb. The poets who participated in the mushairn were Arsh Sehbai, Chaman Panthi, Mohan Dubey, Chander Ved Praksh, Ghardhai Lal, Harsh Kaila, Kanta Jamwal, Ayodhya Rani Ghamkhar, Dya Ram Daya, Abdul Qadir Kundria, Deepak Arsi, Mangal Dass Dogra, Puran Chand Badgotra, Subhash Carnalia, Ramesh Rahi, Joginder Kumar Sharma, Padamdeep Singh, Shashi Begana and Dheeraj Kesar. Brij Mohan editor Dogri conducted the proceedings of the Mushaira and also presented vote of thanks.
