| Essay Writing Competition on “Khadi Journey: From Freedom to Fashion” Promotes Khadi Awareness | | |  Early Times Report
R.S. Pura, Oct 28: In line with the Khadi Mahotsav Campaign, the NSS Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Science at Government Degree College, R.S. Pura, organized an Essay Writing Competition. The event aimed to shed light on the theme “Khadi Journey: From Freedom to Fashion” and was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Rajni Bhagat, the college’s Principal. Prof. Esha Abrol, Head of the Environmental Science Department, and Prof. Vijay Kumari, a member of the NSS Committee, supervised the event.
A total of 25 students from various semesters participated in the competition with great enthusiasm, showcasing their knowledge about the historical and contemporary significance of Khadi. Khadi holds a special place in India’s history of independence, and the competition aimed to enhance students’ understanding of its importance.
The results of the competition were as follows:
• First Place: Tiniksha from Semester I
• Second Place: Mansi Sharma from Semester III
• Third Place: Tripta Kumari from Semester III and Samita Sharma from Semester V
The judging panel for the competition consisted of Prof. Shifali Abrol and Prof. Anuradha. The Principal of the college commended the efforts of the organizing units and encouraged students to participate in more such activities in the future.
The Essay Writing Competition served as a platform for students to delve into the rich history and contemporary relevance of Khadi, highlighting its journey from a symbol of freedom to a fashion statement. |
