DC releases 3rd Edition of School Magazine -Siraj published by GHSS Doda

DODA, Oct 28: Marking a momentous occasion, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan on Saturday released the highly-anticipated school magazine “Siraj” of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Doda. The event took place in the presence of SSP, Abdul Qayoom, CEO, Parshotam Goria and DDC Councillor Gundna Asim Hashmi, alongwith Ruby Naz, the Principal of the school, writers, poets of Doda, teachers and enthusiastic students.
The school magazine was brought to fruition under the guidance of Ruby Naz (Principal), with due assistance of Mohd Arshad (Sr. Lecturer) as the Convenor, Dr. Imtiaz Assad Khanji (Sr. Lecturer) as the Chief Editor, Ved Raj (Sr. Lecturer) as the Editor of the English section, and Rakesh Gupta (Teacher) as the Editor of the Hindi section. Amir Nazir (Lecturer) played a vital role as the facilitator of the Editorial Board.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests.
In his address, DC Vishesh Mahanjan conveyed his congratulations to the school staff, students, and local contributors for their collective effort in bringing forth this splendid school magazine. He appreciated the well-researched contributions from the school staff and students, emphasizing the significance of this publication. Notably, this magazine marked a remarkable return after a gap of 25 years, and the DC expressed his hope for its regular publication. He also assured the school authorities of the District Administration’s unwavering support in enhancing the school’s infrastructure and meeting its requirements.
The DC encouraged the teaching community to instil creativity in the younger generation, aligning with the principles of the New Education Policy. He stressed that innovation was key to fostering national development, acknowledging that there might be certain educational facilities’ shortcomings, but resourceful teachers can overcome such obstacles and mould their students into successful citizens.
Syed Asim Hashmi, DDC Councillor Gundna, Showket Ali Mughal, CEO Doda shared sentiments about the rich legacy of the institution. The entire event was orchestrated by OP Bhagat and Dr. Imtiaz Assad.
The program concluded with the presentation of mementoes to dignitaries, contributors, and accomplished students, followed by a vote of thanks by Ved Raj, Senior Lecturer, expressing gratitude for this momentous event.
