GDC Ramnagar hosts online awareness-lecture on "Career Opportunities in Law"

RAMNAGAR, Oct 28: The Career, Counselling, and Placement Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar recently organized an enlightening online lecture on the topic of "Career Opportunities in Law" under the able guidance of Dr. Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, the principal of the college. The primary objective of this lecture was to familiarize students, particularly those about to graduate, with the diverse career avenues in the field of law.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Prof. Swarna Devi, Head of the Department of Political Science and Convener of the Career, Counselling, and Placement Cell. This was followed by an informative presentation by the resource person, Dr. Raj Kumar Sandhu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Law at the University of Jammu, Jammu. Dr. Sandhu delved into various facets of the legal profession, highlighting the importance of choosing law courses in competitive exams. He elucidated the array of available courses, such as LLB, LLM, PHD, PG Diploma, and other law degree programs, emphasizing that students can tailor their choices to suit their individual needs and interests.
During the event, the college principal inspired and motivated students to pursue careers aligned with their passions and aspirations. He also commended the Career, Counselling, and Placement Cell for arranging such a thought-provoking and motivational lecture, acknowledging its potential to guide students in making informed career choices. Dr. Bhavnaish Chand Anthal expressed hope that the committee would continue to organize inspiring lectures in the future.
The lecture saw an active participation of approximately 65 students through online mode and 100 students in the EDUSAT room who attended in person. A lively question-and-answer session provided students with the opportunity to seek clarifications and insights from the resource person, addressing their queries related to the field of law.
The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Swarna Devi, expressing gratitude to all attendees and participants.
