GDC Chatroo hosts symposium on the crucial role of police in nation building

CHATROO, Oct 28: The NSS unit of GDC Chatroo, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Police, organized a thought-provoking symposium focused on the pivotal role of the police in nation-building. The event, held at GDC Chatroo, was graced by esteemed guests and speakers, offering valuable insights into the subject. Dr. Ved Kumar, Principal of GDC Chatroo, presided over the event as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Shoket Hayat Mattoo, the SDM of Chatroo, and Mr. Sandeep Parihar, SHO Chatroo, were honored as the Guests of Honour.
In his introductory address, Sandeep Parihar, SHO Chatroo, eloquently emphasized the remarkable contributions of the police in maintaining law and order, ensuring societal peace, and upholding the values of justice.
The symposium featured five student speakers who explored the multifaceted role of the police in our society. Miss Mujeeba Malik received recognition as the First-place speaker, followed by Mr. Amir Hussain in the Second place, and Miss Sangeeta in the Third place. The judging panel comprised eminent faculty members, including Dr. Athar Hussain, Prof. Mussart Mattoo, and Prof. Ajeet Kumar.
Hayat Mattoo, SDM Chatroo, highlighted the significant and indispensable role played by the police in our society in his address, underscoring their contributions to maintaining law and order.
Dr. Ashaq Hussain, in his closing remarks, emphasized that the police serve as a vital pillar of modern society, akin to essentials like food, clothing, and shelter. He added that the police act as custodians of law and order, providing protection against untoward incidents.
The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Muddasser Nazar, ensuring a coherent and informative session. Other notable attendees included Prof. Chander Parkash, NSS Program Officer of the College, Muddasser But, Dr. Haq Nawaz, and Dr. Inamul Haq. This symposium provided a platform for engaging discussions and offered insights into the invaluable role played by the police force in the development and stability of our nation.
