GCOE hosts inter-collegiate basketball tournament

JAMMU, Oct 28: Government College of Education (GCOE), in association with Cluster University of Jammu, organized an inter-collegiate basketball tournament for both men and women at MA Stadium, Jammu. Dr. Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar of Cluster University of Jammu, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director of Sports at CLUJ and Physical Director at GGM Science College Jammu, was the Guest of Honor.
The tournament was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director of Sports at CLUJ, and Ramandeep Kralia, Physical Director at GCOE Jammu.
In the Men's section, GGM Science College clinched the title with a commanding score of 45-17 points, defeating Govt. MAM College. Anikat Chib and Yuvraj Singh of GGM Science College delivered outstanding performances, scoring 20 and 12 points, respectively. Aditya Manhas and Aman Manhas of Govt. MAM College also showcased their skills by contributing 19 and 10 points, respectively.
In the Women's section, GCW Gandhi Nagar College emerged victorious by defeating SPMR College of Commerce with a score of 6-4 points. Simran Pawar of GCW Gandhi Nagar played an excellent game and scored 4 points.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Prof. Deep from GCOE Jammu, Aijaz Malik, Physical Director at Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Dr. Roopali Slathia, Physical Director at GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, and Neenu Sawhney, Physical Director at Govt. MAM College Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Amit Kalsi, Vineet Pangotra, Rajesh Bandral, and Mansi Verma. The tournament showcased the talents and skills of the participants and celebrated their dedication to the sport of basketball.
