Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 29: The Government schools falling in Jammu Division organised a mega Parent Teacher Meet (PTM) on Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) which is a new initiative of Government of India focusing on the creation of Unique ID’s of the students.
The teachers/Faculty counsellors sensitised the students’ parents about the benefits of this Unique ID and sought the consent of the Parents regarding sharing the details of the students with the Ministry of Education, Government of India for creation o0f Unique ID. Many parents have given their written consent for the same and the process of receiving the parental consents has been expedited.
Director School Education Jammu, Ashok Sharma in his message said that it will be a lifelong ID and will reflect detailed information about the student like academic progress, achievements (Olympiad, sports, skill training), scholarship disbursement, transfer of govt. benefits, holistic report card, skill training and sports activities of the student etc. The students can use their credit score for their higher education and employment purposes in future. It will help in achieving the objective of ‘One Nation and One student ID’.
He complemented the efforts of Heads of the institutions and Teachers concerned in making Special PTM a successful drive. He has also complemented the efforts of Counselling cell, DSEJ for organisation of this mega drive.
Monthly PTM has become a regular feature in Govt. schools of Jammu division and it is leading to a paradigm shift in teacher parent relationship.
