Lt Governor inaugurates 12 controlled atmosphere (CA) store projects in Pulwama

Pulwama, Oct 29: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated 12 Controlled Atmosphere (CA) Store projects worth Rs. 368.35 Crore at the Industrial Growth Centre, Lassipora, Pulwama.
The Lt. Governor dedicated these new CA stores to the farming community, adding to the 44 CA stores with a capacity of 185,843 MTs already established in the Kashmir Division. These 12 new CA stores will contribute an additional 59,000 MTs of capacity and prove beneficial for farmers and fruit growers. Furthermore, approximately 259 CA store projects are in the pipeline. These CA storage facilities will help extend the shelf life of fresh produce and reduce post-harvest losses.
The Lt. Governor invited the business community to invest in the establishment of CA stores, contributing to increased capacity, ultimately benefiting farmers and stakeholders.
The Lt. Governor also discussed the implementation of projects under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), which will enhance productivity in agriculture and allied sectors, requiring more Controlled Atmosphere storage.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Central Public Works Department and SIDCO for the development of six new industrial estates in the UT.
The Lt. Governor handed over certificates to the owners of CA stores and also released a compendium of the Industries and Commerce Department.
Earlier, Shri Manoj Sinha visited the Koh-e-Noor CA Store and inspected the facilities at the 5000 MT capacity store. The event was attended by various officials, business community representatives, and industrial estate members.
