District-Level Inter-College Competition in Ramban

Ramban, Oct 29: The NSS Unit, in collaboration with the Debate and Seminar Committee at Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban, organized a district-level inter-college competition in various categories including Essay Writing, Photography, Videography, and Painting. The event was held in connection with the Union Territory Foundation Day celebrations on October 31, 2023, with the theme “Badalta Jammu Kashmir, Aman aur Taraqqiki Nai Tasveer.” The competition took place on October 27 and 28, 2023, at GDC Ramban under the patronage of Prof. Archana Kaul, the Principal of the college.
Students from several colleges, including GDC Ramban, GDC Gool, GDC Banihal, GDC Ukhral, and GDC Batote, participated in different categories of the competition.
The results of the competition are as follows:
Essay Writing:
1. First Position: Ranjit Singh from GDC Ramban
2. Second Position: Mohd. Umar from GDC Banihal
3. Third Position: Priya Devi from GDC Batote
Painting:
1. First Position: Sunaina Bhat from GDC Ramban
2. Second Position: Pinky Devi from GDC Batote
3. Third Position: Sunil Singh from GDC Ukhral
Photography:
1. First Position: Virmal Singh from GDC Ramban
2. Second Position: Mohd Aliyas from GDC Banihal
3. Third Position: Surender Singh from GDC Ukhral
Videography:
1. First Position: Shadab from GDC Batote
2. Second Position: Rahul Singh from GDC Ramban
3. Third Position: Mohd Aliyas from GDC Banihal
All participants received certificates of participation, and the winners received mementos and medals. Prof. Vijay Sharma conducted the proceedings of the event, while Prof. Vickey Rattan, Programme Officer NSS at GDC Ramban, supervised the event. Other faculty members present included Prof. Neetu Sharma, Prof. Chankaya Sharma, and Prof. Sameer Ahmed. The jury members included Prof. Vijay Sharma, Prof. Ram Prakash, Prof. Chankaya Sharma from GDC Ramban, Dr. Sajad Ahmed from GDC Ukhral, and Dr. Abbas Wani from GDC Batote. The event concluded with concluding remarks from Prof. Archana Kaul, the Principal of GDC Ramban.
