Samba, Oct 29: Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, the police have successfully apprehended eight notorious individuals involved in various criminal activities in Samba district. These arrests were made in connection with crimes such as extortion, attempted murders, smuggling, theft, and bootlegging.
The arrested individuals have been identified as follows:
Bushan Lal alias Bhanu, Shah Din alias Shawa, Rajinder Kumar, Ghara Ram alias Sethi, Rahul Kumar, Ricky Dhunna, Shokat Ali and One other individual.
Bushan Lal alias Bhanu, who was previously arrested in an attempted murder case, was apprehended for an extortion case at Police Station Vijaypur.
Shoeb and one female culprit were arrested in connection with an attempted murder case (FIR No. 238/2023) at Police Station Bari Brahmana, where heroin smugglers and their supporters had attacked a police party in Sarore.
Shokat Ali, a notorious bovine smuggler, was arrested after a foiled bovine smuggling attempt, during which thirteen animals were rescued. Ricky Dhunna and Rahul Kumar, known for thefts, were arrested in separate cases, while Rajinder Kumar and Ghara Ram, who are notorious bootleggers, were apprehended in cases related to violations of the Excise Act.
These arrests were made by the respective Station House Officers (SHOs) under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Garu Ram, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh highlighted the police’s effective efforts in curbing crime in the district. He noted that hardcore criminals and notorious smugglers are being arrested regularly, demonstrating the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order in Samba district. |
