UT Foundation Day/ Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Blocks abuz with vibrant activities in Bandipora

BANDIPORA, Oct 29: To celebrate ensuing UT Foundation Day/Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, different blocks in Bandipora district performed a wide range of activities including Gram Sabhas, cleanliness drives, plantation drives besides painting competitions.
The events were lead by the respective block development officers. In block Sumbal, Bonakoot and block Bagtore Gram Sabhas were held in all panchayats of these blocks, which served as a platform for locals to come together, discuss important issues, and chart a collective vision for their panchayats.
In addition to Gram Sabhas, these blocks were abuzz with enthusiasm as cleanliness drives were held in all panchayats. Dedicated volunteers, in collaboration with local authorities cleaned streets, public spaces, and water bodies.
Furthermore, a massive plantation drive was executed across all panchayats within these blocks. Saplings of various indigenous tree species were planted, contributing to the preservation of local ecosystems while simultaneously enhancing the natural beauty of the region.
The painting competitions were also conducted on the occasion, wherein students from different schools participated. The painting competition added an artistic dimension to the celebration, further emphasizing the holistic development and expression of talent within these blocks.
The participation of residents, government officials, and volunteers expressed the spirit of unity and collaboration that defines the Union Territory.
