UT divas adding insult to injury : JKPCC Chief

Jammu, Oct 30 : Congress to hold peaceful protest dharna for early restoration of statehood ,tomorrow, on the day of fourth year celebrations of the downgrading of the dogra state into UT is being done by government. In a meeting at party Hq here today, PCC President Vikar Rasool Wani took stock of the preparations for the commemoration of 39th Martyrdom day of former Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi ji, tomorrow,followed by holding of a peaceful protest dharna for restoration of statehood and early election to the state assembly as well as ULBs & Panchayats.
JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani, had announced on Oct 25th at a rally at Rajouri that Congress shall oppose the move to celebrate UT divas ,by the BJP, on the day our state was downgraded to UT & shall seek restoration of statehood with early assembly elections. Shri Wani asked senior party leaders in the meeting today that party shall convey a strong message of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, who want early restoration of statehood and assembly elections without further delay. The people of J&K feel betrayed by the downgrading of historical state & more particularly, non fulfilment of the promise on the floor of the parliament regarding early restoration of statehood.
He said the BJP government’s move to celebrate UT divas on completion of fourth year of UT, is adding insult to the injury.
