| Khadi Mahotsav and exhibition organized at Government Degree College Khour | | |  Early Times Report
KHOUR, Oct 30: Khour The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Khour, in collaboration with the Khadi Village Industry Commission (KVIC), celebrated Khadi Mahotsav in the college premises. The event was graced by the presence of KVIC representatives, including Veerbhan, Assistant Director; Mukesh Patle, Executive (VI); and Raj Pal Singh, Junior Executive (Khadi) from the State office of KVIC in Jammu.
During the event, the KVIC team emphasized the importance of being "Vocal for Local" and promoted the "Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan" initiatives of the Government of India. They highlighted the significance of Khadi and Khadi products in these initiatives. The program included an awareness session about Khadi, followed by students and faculty members taking a pledge to promote Khadi and its products. Over 100 students and staff members actively participated in the pledge to support Khadi.
A selfie point was set up where students and staff could take pictures to further promote Khadi and its significance. In addition to the awareness campaign, a one-day exhibition was organized, showcasing a wide range of Khadi products from different states.
The primary aim of this program was to raise awareness and promote Khadi and Khadi products among the youth. The event was successfully organized by NSS Programme Officer Gurvinder Kour under the able guidance of the college's Principal, Prof. (Dr) T K Sharma. It served as a platform to encourage the community to embrace Khadi and contribute to the "Vocal for Local" movement in support of India's self-reliance initiatives. |
