Central University of Jammu launches 'Annual Sports Meet COMBATICA 2023'

JAMMU, Oct 30: The Directorate of Physical Education at the Central University of Jammu announced the commencement of 'Annual Sports Meet COMBATICA 2023' as part of its commitment to holistic education and fostering a spirit of athleticism. The Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, inaugurated the event by flagging off the opening marathon, symbolizing the start of a series of sports extravaganzas over the next three days.
Prof. Jain emphasized the importance of sports in the holistic development of students and commended the unwavering dedication of the Director and Assistant Directors (Sports) in organizing this event. COMBATICA 2023 exemplifies the university's commitment to excellence, sportsmanship, and camaraderie, offering a platform for healthy competition and showcasing the talents of student athletes from various backgrounds.
The event kicked off with the marathon and continued with a variety of sporting events, including cricket, chess, carrom, volleyball, badminton, shot-put, long jump, high jump, and table tennis. Participants displayed their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship in each competition.
As COMBATICA 2023 progresses, October 31st promises another action-packed day with events such as cricket, chess, carrom, volleyball, football, badminton, various racing events, table tennis, discus throw, javelin throw, and the traditional game of kho kho. The grand finale on November 1st will feature basketball, cricket, volleyball, badminton, and the crowd-favorite tug of war.
The event not only celebrates athleticism but also fosters a sense of community and companionship among participants and spectators. COMBATICA 2023 brings together athletes from various disciplines to compete, collaborate, and celebrate the spirit of sports. Organized annually, the event aims to provide a platform for emerging talent, foster community spirit, and champion the values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork.
