Clean Sweep: Swachhta campaign 3.0 in defence production

Jammu, Oct 30: In an exceptional display of commitment to cleanliness and efficiency, the Department of Defence Production, along with its Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and Attached Offices, has successfully implemented Swachhta Campaign 3.0 at 790 sites, marking a significant milestone in their mission.
Swachhta Campaign 3.0 is a special initiative that not only addresses public grievances but also responds to references from the Prime Minister’s Office and State Governments. The campaign serves as a crucial platform to underscore the importance of cleanliness in workplaces and its effectiveness in establishing sustainable mechanisms for maintaining clean and green premises. Throughout the campaign, several best practices emerged from DPSUs and Attached Offices, showing improvements in both the work environment and its surroundings.
Key achievements and initiatives during the campaign include:
Cleanliness Activity: A concerted effort to maintain cleanliness in and around the workspaces, including regular cleaning routines.
In-House Nursery: A green initiative focusing on the creation and maintenance of nurseries within the workplace.
Spray of Disinfectant in Stagnant Water: An effective method to prevent stagnant water, reducing the risk of vector-borne diseases.
Beautification of Premises by Reuse of Scrap: Utilizing scrap materials for creative beautification projects around the workspace.
Construction of Road Using Slag Dump Within the Plant: Innovative recycling of slag materials for infrastructure development.
During the campaign’s implementation, data is collected daily and updated on the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) portal of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). After four weeks of dedicated effort, the Department of Defence Production achieved several significant milestones:
• Reviewed and segregated 23,760 files/records, with 21,735 files weeded out.
• Liberated 7.78 lakh square feet of space by disposing of scrap and unused items.
• Disposed of 2,872 metric tons of scrap and unused items.
• Earned revenue of 20.21 crores through scrap disposal.
• Resolved 153 public grievances.
• Addressed 52 appeals related to public grievances.
Furthermore, the department continuously reviews pending cases to reduce any existing backlog and ensures that their goals for Special Campaign 3.0 are met.
These accomplishments are being actively shared on various social media platforms, with over 735 tweets shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by DPSUs, Attached Offices, and the Department of Defence Production, all tagged with #SpecialCampaign3.0.
This campaign exemplifies a strong commitment to cleanliness, efficiency, and accountability within the Department of Defence Production, paving the way for a cleaner and more productive work environment.
