District Police Udhampur celebrates Ekta Diwas

JAMMU, Oct 31: On the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbai Patel, the Iron Man of India, a "Run for Unity" was today organised at Udhampur and its jurisdictional areas to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas wherein more than 1000 volunteers including respectable citizens of Udhampur, school children, police/CPMF personnel and media personnel of Udhampur participated in run for unity for the unity and integrity of nation.
Saloni Rai IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur along with SSP Udhampur Sh. Joginder Singh flagged off the "Run For Unity" from Mini stadium Udhampur and acccompanied them till culmination point i.e. Degree College for Boys, Udhampur.
Ekta Parade was also held at DPL Udhampur on the occassion where SSP Udhampur Sh. Joginder Singh took the parade salute.
Similar programmes were also held at Sub-Divison Ramnagar, Chenani, and at different police stations and police posts like Chenani, Ramnagar, Latti, Pancheri, Majalta, Basantgarh etc.
Ekta Pledge was also taken during programme regarding dedicating ourselves to the unity and integrity of nation while ensuring the brotherhood and comity irrespective of faith, creed, gender, race, colour and tribe.
The participants were made aware about the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the independence of India and his efforts to make India into a modern, unified nation.
The participants especially school children were encouraged to work hard with honesty and dedication in the interest of sustainable growth, unity and integrity of Indian Nation.
Shahid Nahiem DySP DAR DPL Udhampur, Inspr. Raghubir Singh SHO Udhampur, Inspr. Mashkoor Ahmed among other also participated in Ekta Diwas Run for Unity.
