Swift police action in Jhajjar Kotli leads to arrest, seizure of illicit liquor

JAMMU, Oct 31: In a commendable display of proactive policing, the Jhajjar Kotli Police received vital information through a trusted source about the sale of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of PS Jhajjar, specifically in the Katra Domail area. Acting swiftly on this information, a dedicated police team from PS Jhajjar Kotli swiftly moved into action and managed to apprehend the individual involved.
The person in question, identified as Ashnil Kumar, son of Thakur Dass and a resident of Gunguss, P.O. Kheral, Tehsil & District Reasi, was caught red-handed while selling illicit liquor to customers in the Katra Domail region.
Upon searching Ashnil Kumar, the police team recovered a total of 12 bottles of Jubilee Special Whisky, with each bottle containing 750 ml of the illegal substance. The seized consignment of illicit liquor was immediately confiscated, and Ashnil Kumar was placed under arrest on the spot.
To address this unlawful activity, an immediate case was registered at PS Jhajjar Kotli under FIR No. 242/2023, invoking Section 48-F of the Excise Act. The police have now intensified their investigation into the matter to unravel the extent of this illicit liquor trade and identify any potential accomplices involved.
