Jammu, Oct 31: The Central Govt Pensioners' Welfare Association, Jammu, celebrated the 141st birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the "Iron Man of India" and the pioneer of the unification of 565 princely states in India during Independence. The celebration took place on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. During a special meeting held at their office computer at Exhibition Ground, members of CGPWA, led by President Kuldeep Khoda, took the unity pledge to work towards preserving the unity, integrity, and security of India. The pledge was administered by the General Secretary, K.B. Jandial, with approximately 50 members participating in this solemn ceremony. The celebration also included cutting a birthday cake and distributing sweets. |
