Police apprehend absconder after 10 years on run

KISHTWAR, Nov 1: In a remarkable feat, the Kishtwar Police have apprehended an absconder who had successfully evaded arrest for an entire decade. The arrest of Bashir Ahmed Khanday, son of Ghula Khanday and a resident of Jugna Keshwan, marks a significant achievement for the law enforcement authorities.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Khalil Poswal-JKPS, shared the details of this arrest, emphasizing the diligent efforts of the police force. The breakthrough came as a result of valuable information received through undisclosed sources. In response, a dedicated team from PS Kishtwar, led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, the Station House Officer of PS Kishtwar, conducted a series of raids under the watchful supervision of DySP Hqrs Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS, ultimately leading to the capture of the long-elusive absconder.
Bashir Ahmed Khanday was wanted in connection with case FIR No. 146/2013, under various sections of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), including 436, 353, 336, 435, 332, 427, 147, and 148. Following his arrest, he was promptly presented before the Hon'ble Court in Kishtwar, where the legal proceedings have commenced. The authorities will now work to address the charges against him and ensure that justice is served.
The Kishtwar Police's relentless pursuit of justice has culminated in the apprehension of this absconder, underscoring their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that individuals facing legal consequences are brought to justice, regardless of the time that has passed.
