POWERGRID organizes walkathon to promote vigilance awareness

JAMMU, Nov 1: The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a prestigious Maharatna company under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, is actively participating in Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th October to 5th November 2023 with the theme "Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation" in all its offices. During this week, various programs are being organized to raise awareness among the general public, employees, and their family members, shedding light on the adverse effects of corruption on society.
As part of these initiatives, a walkathon was organized for the employees of the Regional Headquarters in Jammu. The walkathon aimed to spread awareness in and around the areas of the POWERGRID office premises. The event was inaugurated by Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director of Northern Region-II. Rajesh Kumar stressed the significance of every citizen's support in realizing the dream of a self-reliant and integral India. He highlighted the importance of eradicating corruption from our society and the nation as a whole to propel India towards becoming a Super Power.
Before commencing the walkathon, Rajesh Kumar led all the employees in taking the Integrity pledge, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining integrity and ethical conduct.
POWERGRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED is a Maharatna Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, with its regional headquarters for Northern Region-II located in Jammu. POWERGRID is primarily engaged in inter-state bulk power transmission, boasting an extensive network of 176,180 circuit kilometers of transmission lines, 275 sub-stations, and more than 512,601 MVA of transformation capacity. The organization has leveraged advanced technological tools, automation, and digital solutions to ensure the average transmission system's availability remains over 99%, contributing to the nation's power infrastructure and reliability.
