11/2/2023 10:19:31 PM
Early Times Report
SAMBA, Nov 2: In an impressive display of law enforcement, Samba Police, under the astute guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, has apprehended 145 notorious thieves within the past nine months. Their relentless efforts have led to the resolution of 72 theft cases in a remarkably short span. Furthermore, a significant achievement was the recent detention of a key kingpin in a thieves' gang, who is now behind bars thanks to the diligent work of the Samba police under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
The latest arrest involved the capture of a long-sought-after thief, Rohit Kumar, son of Satpal, hailing from Chawala in the R.S Pura tehsil of Jammu district. Rohit Kumar was the prime suspect in FIR No. 246/2023 under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code at the Bari Brahmana Police Station. He had been evading the authorities, prompting a series of extensive police operations to bring him to justice. The breakthrough came when a police team led by Inspr. Sham Lal and PSI Vivek Singh, under the vigilant supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, successfully apprehended Rohit Kumar. It was revealed that he was involved in multiple other theft cases.
Under the direct instructions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, the police force in Samba district has launched an intensive campaign against theft, conducting thorough investigations and efficiently solving old theft cases one after another. This crackdown has not only resulted in the arrest of thieves and those receiving stolen property but has also led to significant recoveries. As a result, the incidence of thefts in Samba district has considerably decreased.
The Samba Police's relentless efforts to maintain law and order, protect the community, and bring criminals to justice have demonstrated their commitment to the safety and security of the district's residents. With 145 thieves apprehended and numerous cases solved, the Samba Police force continues to be at the forefront of ensuring a safer environment for all.
