LEH, Nov 2: In a significant progress and development for sports enthusiasts and winter sports enthusiasts, the Administrative Secretary of Youth Services & Sports, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar presided over a meeting to deliberate the arrangements for the forthcoming National Winter Games (Ice) at the Civil Secretariat in Leh.
During the meeting, Ravinder Kumar reiterated the UT Ladakh Administration's commitment to making the National Winter Games a resounding success. He emphasized the promotion of winter sports and the potential hold in carving a role for Ladakh in the realm of sports and tourism.
The meeting convened by the Administrative Secretary was the essence of thorough planning and strategic discussions. The meeting served as a platform for key stakeholders to deliberate, and ensure a unified execution of the prestigious sporting event. The primary agenda of the gathering was to chart out a comprehensive action plan encompassing all aspects of the National Winter Games (Ice), from logistics, transportation, accommodation, branding, and infrastructure to security and player welfare.
Joint Director of Youth Services & Sports, UT Ladakh Moses Kunzang highlighted the importance of initiatives aimed at enhancing the winter sports landscape in the region. He outlined the need to establish specialized committees responsible for various aspects of winter sports. These committees will play a crucial role in coordinating and executing programs, ensuring the highest standards of safety, training, and event management, he stated.
Kunzang also announced that the UT Ladakh administration is committed to investing in state-of-the-art sports infrastructure, providing better facilities for athletes, and developing comprehensive training programs for winter sports enthusiasts.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports Department, Ladakh; Superintending Engineer, PDD Leh, UT Ladakh; Executive Engineer, R&B Division, PWD Leh; Executive Engineer, Construction Division, PWD Leh; Officer on Special Duty to the Secretary; District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Leh; Representative, Ladakh Ice Hockey Association; Representative, Ladakh Curling Association; and Representative, Ladakh Ice Skating Association.
