Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 at GDC Paloura

JAMMU, Nov 3: Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura took proactive measures to instill the values of transparency and anti-corruption within its student body during the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week in 2023. The theme for this important program was "Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation."
A variety of activities were organized to educate and engage students in understanding the significance of good governance and the detrimental effects of corruption in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from a significant number of NSS (National Service Scheme) and NCC (National Cadet Corps) students, as well as the dedicated college faculty. The series of events commenced with a pledge-taking ceremony on October 30th at 11:00 a.m., which was conducted in the presence of the college's Principal, Dr. Ashu Vashisht, and other staff members.
During the event, Prof. Shikha Bhasin provided insights into the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week, underlining the role that transparency and anti-corruption play in a society's overall well-being.
On October 31st, a marathon was organized within the college campus, promoting physical fitness and a sense of unity among the students.
Subsequently, on November 2nd, activities such as slogan writing and poster making were conducted, providing a creative platform for students to express their thoughts and ideas on the theme.
The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week culminated on November 3rd with a rally organized within the college premises. This rally served as a collective display of the commitment to transparency, integrity, and the fight against corruption.
The entire program was meticulously organized by Prof. Shikha Bhasin and Prof. Vijay Rukwal, demonstrating their dedication to instilling these values in the student community and fostering awareness about the importance of vigilance in society. GDC Paloura's initiative to promote vigilance and integrity underscores its commitment to nurturing responsible and socially conscious citizens.
