GDC Vijaypur excels in Inter- College Sports Competition

JAMMU, Nov 3: The students of Government Degree College Vijaypur have brought honor and recognition to their college by achieving remarkable success in the inter-college sports competition organized by the University of Jammu, particularly in the field of kick-boxing. Their outstanding performances in various weight categories have earned them a total of five medals, consisting of two gold medals and three silver medals. Additionally, GDC Vijaypur has secured the prestigious second-best rank among all the colleges participating in the Inter-College Sports Meet.
The talented individuals who have achieved these remarkable feats are as follows:
Vivek Rai (Semester V): Gold medal in the 63kg weight category.
Aditiya Rai (Semester V): Gold medal in the 64kg weight category.
Parul Singh Narania (Semester V): Silver medal in the 66kg weight category.
Akash Sharma (Semester V): Silver medal in the 57kg weight category.
Vansh Sharma (Semester V): Silver medal in the 50kg weight category.
These students have not only showcased their exceptional skills and dedication in the field of kick-boxing but have also brought pride to their institution, Government Degree College Vijaypur.
Furthermore, the excellence of GDC Vijaypur's students extends beyond the sports arena. Kavya Charak of Semester V and Rupaank Aryan of Semester III have secured first positions in the Painting Competition and Essay Writing Competition, respectively, in the Divisional Level Competition organized by GCW Parade, Jammu, on the occasion of JK-UT Foundation Day 2023.
Dr. Vandana Gupta, the Principal of the college, extended her heartfelt congratulations to all the members of the Sports committee, Cultural Committee, and the dedicated staff members of the college. She also commended the extraordinary efforts of all the participants who have not only brought home medals but have also contributed to the college's recognition and reputation. These achievements are a testament to the college's commitment to fostering talent and nurturing well-rounded individuals in both sports and cultural activities.
