SAMBA, Nov 4: As part of their intensified efforts to combat the sale of illicit liquor, the Samba Police, following the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, arrested two bootleggers and seized illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur. The arrested individuals have been identified as Kulbir Singh from Tehsil Vijaypur and Kuljit Singh from Tehsil Vijaypur.
During a routine patrolling duty near Gurha Morh, a police team from Police Station Vijaypur, led by SHO PS Vijaypur Sandeep Charak and supervised by SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, apprehended the two bootleggers and discovered illicit liquor in their possession.
A case under FIR No. 153/2023, u/s 48(f) of the Excise Act, has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur, and an investigation has been initiated. The Samba Police have been relentless in their efforts to crack down on the illegal sale of liquor, resulting in the arrest of forty-one notorious bootleggers and the filing of thirty FIRs in a short span. The police continue to conduct raids and operations to apprehend wrongdoers throughout the district, following the directives of SSP Samba Benam Tosh.
