RAMNAGAR, Nov 4: The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee and NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ramnagar came together to organize an awareness program with the theme, "The Spectrum of Drug Addiction, Prevention, and Treatment." This initiative, held under the patronage of Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, the Principal of the College, aimed to educate and sensitize young minds about the adverse effects of drug addiction and the means of prevention and treatment.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of students from various disciplines within the college. Dr. Irfan Ahmad Wani, a faculty member of Psychology, delivered a compelling lecture on the theme. During his presentation, he shed light on the physical and mental adversities associated with drug addiction. Dr. Wani emphasized the long-lasting implications of drug use on cognitive, emotional, behavioral, physical health, relationships, academic performance, overall life satisfaction, and well-being.
Dr. Wani also stressed the importance of identifying individuals within the community who are involved in drug addiction and those who engage in drug peddling. He suggested seeking the assistance of the local police department to identify these individuals and to help them stay away from drug usage, ultimately working for the betterment of society.
