Government Polytechnic Jammu, DAV University Jalandhar join forces to empower engineering students

JAMMU, Nov 4: In a significant move towards fostering educational collaboration and empowering engineering students, Government Polytechnic College Jammu and DAV University Jalandhar, Punjab, have signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership aims to enhance the employability and skills of engineering students by introducing them to the latest technologies at the Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation, and Training (CIIIT) Jammu, established within Government Polytechnic Jammu.
The official MoU signing ceremony took place in the esteemed presence of Sh. Sudershan Kumar (JKAS), Director of the Skill Development Department, Jammu & Kashmir Government, who commended the collaborative efforts of both institutions. Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of Government Polytechnic Jammu, and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of DAV University Jalandhar, Punjab, were key signatories, demonstrating their commitment to fostering innovation and technical excellence.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to enhance the competency of engineering and technical students. The initiative will bridge the gap between academia and industry by imparting skill training on cutting-edge technologies at CIIIT Jammu, facilitated by expert faculty from Tata Technologies. By doing so, students will be better equipped to meet the demands of the ever-evolving job market.
Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of Government Polytechnic Jammu, proudly announced that the institution has established a Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation, and Training dedicated to training students in the latest trends of Manufacturing Technology and Automobile Engineering, aligned with Industry 4.0 standards, in collaboration with Tata Technologies Ltd, Pune. DAV University Jalandhar, Punjab, has also committed to offering facilities for upskilling the Polytechnic staff and students in the realm of new technologies on their campus.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of DAV University Jalandhar, emphasized that the university will actively engage in conducting seminars, conferences, and workshops at Government Polytechnic Jammu. These initiatives aim to promote the culture of start-ups and entrepreneurship within Jammu and Kashmir, nurturing a dynamic ecosystem that encourages innovation and growth.
This partnership is expected to have a transformative impact on the engineering and technical education landscape, enriching the knowledge and employability of students while fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The collaboration between Government Polytechnic Jammu and DAV University Jalandhar is a significant step towards empowering the next generation of engineers and technologists, setting a model for similar partnerships in the educational sector.
