Husband remanded to 7 days police custody for gruesome murder of wife in Nandpur

Samba, Nov 5: In a harrowing incident that shook the community of Nandpur, a 32-year-old housewife, Arti Devi, was brutally murdered by her husband, Gurdeep Singh, in late October. Today, the accused husband has been remanded to seven days of police custody as Samba Police conduct an exemplary investigation into this heinous crime.
The gruesome incident occurred on October 27, 2023, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh. After completing the necessary inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code), the police swiftly converted the case into a murder investigation under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Subsequently, the accused husband, Gurdeep Singh, was arrested.
The police are now focusing on conducting a thorough and sustained interrogation of the accused to uncover additional facts surrounding the tragic incident. The seven-day police remand was granted by a Judicial Magistrate to facilitate this investigation. The interrogation process is being led by a highly professional team comprising SHO Amit Sangra, SDPO Rohit Kumar, and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, emphasized the commitment of the Samba Police to conducting exemplary investigations in murder cases. He assured a high-level delegation from Nandpur and Ramgarh that every aspect of the ongoing murder case would be meticulously examined, offering hope for justice for the victim, Arti Devi.
