JAMMU, Nov 6: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Khour, in collaboration with Mission Shakti, Department of Social Welfare, organized a program focused on women empowerment. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of women-centric schemes and government initiatives designed to uplift and support women in various aspects of life.
The lecture was delivered by the resource person, Ms. Khushboo from Mission Shakti, and focused on educating students about the various government programs aimed at improving the lives of women. These schemes cover areas such as education, healthcare, employment, and financial independence, making a significant impact on the lives of women. During the lecture, the resource person emphasized the pivotal role of women-centric schemes in promoting gender equality, enhancing women's socio-economic status, and ensuring their holistic development. Students gained valuable insights into the benefits associated with these programs.
Addressing the students, Dr. T. K. Sharma, the Principal of the college, highlighted the need for active participation and awareness among young individuals. He emphasized the crucial role that young people can play in ensuring that these schemes reach their intended beneficiaries. Senior faculty member Prof. Tarsem Lal, the convenor of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), was also present at the event.
