Police apprehends 3 hardcore criminals, recovers illegal arms, ammunition, mobile phones

KATHUA, Nov 6: In a proactive operation, Kathua Police has successfully apprehended three hardcore criminals with a history of criminal activities across different Police Stations within the district. The operation also resulted in the recovery of an illegal firearm, live rounds of ammunition, and mobile phones.
The action was initiated following a tip-off received at Police Station Hiranagar, indicating that three individuals with a known criminal record were roaming in the Dyalachak Dinga Amb area of Hiranagar. It was reported that these individuals were also in possession of illegal arms and ammunition and were likely to commit a heinous crime, creating fear among the local population.
In response to this information, a special team was swiftly constituted, under the supervision of Sh. Dheeraj Singh Katoch, JKPS, SDPO Border. The team, led by Insp. Arun Koul, SHO Hiranagar, conducted raids to apprehend the suspects, resulting in their successful arrest. During the operation, the police recovered several items, including one Desi katta, six live rounds of ammunition, two working mobile phones, and three damaged mobile phones.
The individuals have been identified as follows:
Pankaj Singh, son of Gopal Singh, resident of Kotli Mian Fateh, RS Pura.
Manpreet Singh, son of Mukhtyar, resident of Pindi Katwal, Arnia.
Paras Sharma, son of Pawan Kumar, resident of Bhure Chak Phllayan, Mandaal, Jammu.
It is important to note that these individuals have multiple cases registered against them at various Police Stations. Pankaj Singh, in particular, has a record of being involved in almost 14 cases, including cases of murder and attempted murder. Paras Sharma has four cases against him, and Manpreet Singh has one case on record. Pankaj Singh was recently released from Kotbalwal Jail after spending one year under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
This operation has thwarted their intentions to commit further crimes, thanks to the diligent efforts of the District Police Kathua. The entire operation was conducted under the direct control and command of Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal, JKPS, SSP Kathua. The successful apprehension of these hardcore criminals demonstrates the commitment of the police to maintain law and order and protect the safety of the local community.
