KATHUA, Nov 6: In a dedicated effort to apprehend long-pending absconders, the District Police Kathua, under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Sh. Shivdeep Singh Jamwal, JKPS, has initiated a special drive. On the 6th of November 2023, Police Station Rajbagh successfully arrested an absconder by the name of Nazir Ahmed, son of Mohd. Shafi, and a resident of Parnoot, District Ramban.
The accused, Nazir Ahmed, had been evading arrest and was considered an absconder against whom a warrant under Section 512 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) had been issued by the learned JMIC Hiranagar. This warrant was issued in connection with Case FIR No. 13/2012, under Sections 188 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and 3 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), registered at Police Station Rajbagh.
Authorities had been searching for the defendant since the issuance of the warrant. A team from Police Station Rajbagh, led by Insp. Tariq Ahmed, SHO PS Rajbagh, under the guidance of SDPO Border, Sh. Dheeraj Singh Katoch, JKPS, successfully apprehended the absconder and subsequently presented him before the learned court of law.
This operation reflects the determination and commitment of the District Police Kathua to bring absconders to justice and ensure that they face the legal consequences of their actions. The successful arrest of Nazir Ahmed underscores the relentless efforts of the police in maintaining law and order in the region. |
