Shiv Sena denounces ED action against Chaudhary Lal Singh as politically motivated
11/6/2023 10:52:32 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 6: Leaders of Shiv Sena (UBT) in the Jammu and Kashmir unit have strongly criticized the recent actions taken by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against former minister and Member of Parliament, Chaudhary Lal Singh, terming it as a politically motivated move.
A delegation of Shiv Sena leaders, led by the party's state chief, Manish Sahni, made their way to the ED office in Narwal, where Chaudhary Lal Singh is currently undergoing interrogation. The presence of Shiv Sena supporters outside the ED office, in solidarity with Chaudhary Lal Singh, was also notable.
During his address, Sahni expressed his concerns, stating that there appears to be a consistent effort to undermine the identity of the Dogra community. He went on to claim that leaders from the BJP in the state have not taken substantial measures to protect the cultural identity of the Dogras, while opposition leaders are actively advocating for its preservation. Sahni suggested that the actions against opposition leaders are driven by political animosity, and government investigative agencies are being utilized to stifle their voices.
Sahni reaffirmed Shiv Sena's commitment to standing alongside anyone who raises their voice in support of the Dogra community and asserted that this voice will not be silenced.
Furthermore, Sahni described Chaudhary Lal Singh as a steadfast figure, likening him to a "Duggar lion" who remains undeterred by the investigations conducted by politically motivated agencies. Chaudhary Lal Singh, a former minister in the Jammu and Kashmir government, is currently under scrutiny by an ED team in connection with a money laundering case. The investigation pertains to alleged irregularities in the purchase of land for the establishment of the RB Educational Trust, which operates under the name of Lal Singh's wife, Kanta Andotra.
The remarks by the Shiv Sena leaders underscore the growing concerns about the motivations behind the actions taken against opposition figures, and the dispute continues to generate attention and debate in the political landscape of the region.
