Police apprehends 20 vagrants near 'Chitta' hotspots

SAMBA, Nov 7: Samba Police, under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, has apprehended twenty (20) vagrants who were found loitering near 'chitta' hotspots in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana and Police Station Vijaypur. The apprehensions were made under preventive sections of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
The vagrants have been identified as follows: Tariq Rashid s/o Abdul Rashid r/o Ramban A/P Sidhra Jammu, Balwan Singh s/o Rattan Singh r/o Kewal Danga, district Udhampur, Irfan Khan s/o Mohd Rafiq r/o Kalali, tehsil Manjakote, district Rajouri A/P Jammu, Varun Sharma s/o Romesh Chander Sharma r/o Nanak Nagar Jammu, Aman Gandotra s/o Rakesh Kumar Gandotra r/o Janipur Jammu, Mohit Manhas s/o Kirpal Singh r/o Ramnagar Udhampur A/P Jammu, Sourab Singh s/o Jiwan Lal r/o Basantgarh Udhampur A/P Jammu, Rohit Rana s/o Darshan Lal r/o Alhaha, tehsil Arnia, district Jammu, Laba Ram alias Rohit Singh s/o Kaku Ram r/o Akhnoor, district Jammu, Balbinder Singh s/o Ramesh Singh r/o Kathua, Abhi Nav Dogra s/o Sethi Mal r/o Sarore Bari Brahmana, Dheeraj Rana s/o Bishan Dass r/o Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma s/o Pawan Kumar r/o Jakh, district Samba, Vipan Sharma s/o Joginder Paul r/o Tarore, district Samba, Savej Khan s/o Abdul Malik r/o Uttar Pradesh A/P Jakh, district Samba, Jatinder Kumar s/o Jagdish Raj r/o Vijaypur, Daleep Kumar alias Deepa s/o Mohinder Lal r/o Supwal, Romy Massih s/o Bashir Massih r/o Vijaypur and Two other vagrants.
These individuals were apprehended while wandering suspiciously near infamous 'chitta' hotspots of Balole Khad in Bari Brahmana and Rakh Barotian. Appropriate preventive legal action has been taken in response to their presence. The arrests were carried out by police teams under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. SSP Samba Benam Tosh has appealed to parents, guardians, teachers, and elders in the community to advise senior students and youth to avoid loitering near known 'chitta' hotspots. Police patrolling has been intensified around suspected heroin hotspots in Samba district, and vagrants are being apprehended.
