| Doda connectivity soon: CM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 7: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that reconstruction of the sunk road stretch between Assar and Doda has going on war-footing adding that there was no shortage of essentials in Doda and Kishtwar districts. Talking with media persons on the sidelines of the Red Cross Mela-cum-Raffle Draw here today, Abdullah said that he has ordered airlifting of essential commodities, medicines, if required and has kept a helicopter available round-the-clock for emergency. The Chief Minister said that he has asked the divisional and district administration to keep close vigil on profiteers' and black marketers who could exploit the situation. He said anybody creating false scarcity of essentials or indulging in profiteering will be severally dealt with. In reply to a question regarding the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Chief Minister said that Army, CRPF and para-military forces each have to play their own role. However, he wants police to be in the vanguard and other agencies supporting it. Replying to another question, the Chief Minister said that culture and heritage speaks of the richness of a civilization and is a bench-mark of its identity. "I do not favour presenting film songs in the name of J&K's culture. "We should organize the programmes which depict rich cultural heritage of the State", he said.
