Bharat Scouts & Guides celebrate Foundation Flag Day with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Nov 7: The J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jammu, celebrated its 74th Foundation Day/Flag Day of Bharat Scouts and Guides on November 7th, 2023, at SHQ Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The event saw the participation of approximately 100 Scouts/Guides, Scouters/Guiders, and heads of various institutions. I D Soni, Former State Commissioner (S), was the esteemed chief guest, and other notable dignitaries included Prof. Dr. Rakesh Koul, Principal of Govt. Degree College Marh, and Akhil Kohli, Admin Head of IDPS Jammu, who served as guest of honour. MM Joshi, National Commissioner Headquarters for Special Programme/State Commissioner AR(S), Maitree Jain, State Commissioner (Guides), HL Dogra, State Treasurer, MM Sharma, Jt. State Commissioner (R), RP Kotwal, STC, and RC Vaid (ZC) were also present on this auspicious occasion.
Maitree Jain, State Commissioner (G), delivered a welcome address to all the dignitaries, guests, Scouts/Guides, and shared the significance of this day as a moment of introspection for everyone involved in the movement.
The program commenced with an All-Faith Prayer, and several Scouts, Guides, and Scouters/Guiders spoke about the importance of this auspicious day. The event featured cultural performances and songs related to the occasion by different schools.
The event also included the presentation of "Dr. SRI RAM MEMORIAL AWARDS" to the year's Best Unit Leaders, namely Rakesh Sharma (Scout Master), Mudassir Ahmad Dar (Scout Master), Masrat Wani (Guide Captain), and Dolly Chandhoke (Guide Captain), by the chief guest.
The presence of other distinguished guests and members added grace to the celebration, with the Chief Guest acknowledging the movement's efforts to spread its noble message across the state. He was highly impressed by the movement's dedication to instilling essential values like commitment, conviction, character, courtesy, and cheerfulness in young Scouts and Guides, which is the need of the hour.
Wing Commander M M Joshi and Prof. Dr. Rakesh Koul also spoke about the significance and history of the Foundation Day of Bharat Scouts and Guides.
The entire program was conceptualized and executed under the guidance of Mtr. Nasreen Khan, State Secretary cum Administrative Officer, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Mtr. Nasreen Khan, State Secretary cum Administrative Officer, delivered the vote of thanks, urging young Scouts and Guides to contribute their best to the betterment of society.
