Kavinder meets Maharashtra CM Shinde in Kupwara, seeks cooperation for tourism promotion in J&K

SRINAGAR, Nov 7: Kavinder Gupta, a senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during Shinde's visit to Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. Kavinder Gupta discussed the current political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted the lasting peace that has been established in the region.
Kavinder Gupta emphasized that the Modi Government has taken revolutionary steps since 2014 to remove obstacles to peace, with the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 being a significant turning point in India's post-independence history. He explained how the situation has dramatically changed in Jammu and Kashmir, creating opportunities for business ventures and tourism. He mentioned that the region now offers a conducive environment for tourism and business, with complete peace and normalcy.
Kavinder Gupta suggested that Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) could collaborate with its counterpart in Jammu and Kashmir to boost tourism. He stressed that there are ample opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir for business and tourism.
The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, assured Kavinder Gupta of full support for tourism promotion through innovative initiatives.
In addition to this meeting, Kavinder Gupta participated in the installation ceremony of a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Kupwara district. Maharashtra's Cultural Affairs Minister, Sudhir Mungantiwar, and the Indian Army's 41 Rashtriya Rifles (41RR) honored Kavinder Gupta for his distinguished service to society.
