KPs organize Havan in Delhi for restoration of peace in Valley

New Delhi, Feb 8- Kashmiri Pandits, putting up in Rohini and other parts of Delhi, today organized an annual mahaygya (havan) at Rohini, for restoration of peace in Kashmir valley and held prayers for the welfare of the community.
This havan is organized every year by the Kashmiri Hindu Association (K.H.A) in Rohini Delhi and today it was attended by large number of Kashmiri Pandits from Rohini and other parts of Delhi.
This was the 16the annual mahaygya (havan) which was held by the local association of Kashmiri Pandits of Rohini who have migrated from the valley in 1990. It was early 1990s, when more than 5, 00,000 Pandits-men, women and children- fled the Valley under threat of the guns and failure of the state apparatus then to protect them. They are till date living in refugee camps, rented accommodations in Jammu, Delhi and other places in India for the past 19 years.
The havan was also organized last year at sector 13 by the K.H.A Rohini which was also attended by large number of community members from all parts of the Delhi
More than 700 people from the community today attended the ‘puran ahuvati’ and prayers were held for the welfare of the community which is facing a lot of hardships after the migration from the valley.
"We are continuously organizing this havan from 1992 and every member of the community takes part in it said M.L.Raina, President of the KHA Rohini Delhi
He further added that "we all started the preparations for the havan from last one month and almost every person of the Pandit community from Rohini took part in preparations
Sanjay Raina, a known social activist of the community and executive member of the Kashmiri Samithi Delhi said that “These havans help us to preserve our culture and by organizing havans we have a chance to meet our few old friends also after a number of years"
The prominent members who attended the function included Sumeer Chrangoo, ex-president KHA Rohini, Dr. Sanjay Raina, Advocate Dileep Pandita, Vijay Raina, executive member KSD, Dr .HL Saraf, Dr L.N Dhar, President KSD, Rakesh Kaul, General Secretary KSD, Kundan Kashmiri, Spokesman ASKPC and N.N.Zijoo
